Welcome to our website!

We welcome you to the historic St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Organized as a parish in 1841, St. John's is the keystone of the community of Johnsburg and a strong spiritual presence in McHenry County.

If you are new in the area or are returning to the practice of faith, we welcome you to our parish community. Please call, or better yet, stop by the office so we can meet you.

If you are a visitor we know that you will take some of our spirit of St. John's Parish home with you.

The parish family of St. John the Baptist consists of married couples and their children, single parent families, single adults and those separated, divorced and widowed.  All those 18 years of age and older and living within a registered parish family household are expected to be individually registered and a participating member of the parish.
The parish provides sacraments to registered, active members of the parish.

As a registered, active member of our parish, your weekly participation at Mass is an obligation you have as a Catholic in accordance with the teachings of the Church.

Your stewardship gifts of Time, Talent, and Treasure are also an important aspect for the continuing support of our parish.
